Make Today Your Day

The “MOVE” starts with you

Every new day gives you a chance to shift your perspective. You can change your thoughts from negative to positive.

If you were down and out yesterday, today you can be an optimist and believe that things will turn around. And no matter how you fail or fall short today, guess what? You’ve got another chance to make it right tomorrow.

Active: Engaging or ready to engage in physically energetic pursuits.
Synonyms: Lively – live – brisk – energetic –operative

Our mission and goal in the ACTIVE component is to engage our youth to be both mentally and physically active in pursing their goals. It is important in the beginning stages of the program to develop the youth to think critically in what they say and do. Thinking critically brings forth engagement which allows the youth to be more involved and focus deeper on what it is that they wish to achieve.

The opportunity for social interactions with others is very important for the development of all children.

Through social interactions, children begin to establish a sense of “self” and to learn what others expect of them. Although social interactions for very young children primarily occur within the family, as children grow and develop, they become more and more interested in playing and interacting with other children.

When playing with others, children learn appropriate social behaviors, such as sharing, cooperating, and respecting the property of others. In addition, while interacting with their peers, young children learn communication, cognitive, and motor skills.

Education: The process of receiving or giving systematic instruction
Synonyms: training – schooling – instruction – upbringing – nurture

Our mission and goal in the EDUCATION COMPONENT is to educate youth that knowledge can be gained through different means. Education is concealed and the cornerstone of each component because essentially the youth are educating themselves physically, socially and academically. In the beginning it is important to provide youth with the proper tools and resources so that they may expand their knowledge but it is more important to teach them the life skills of how to find these things on their own. It is education that helps us simplify our path way towards our goal and develop a rational approach in carrying out each step. When we are educated especially within each component of the ASE system we increase the chances of success.
